By this you must mean financial capital? Venture capital? Fictitious capital? Sorry.
but basically investors who simply invest in investments?
Am I deep green enough? Is ideology enough?
oops. I must not have seen the top line earlier.
Capitalists are crafty! The over-production of commodities, which would appear to present an insurmountable barrier to the accumulation process, is temporarily overcome by financialized accumulation. The problem with this is that all the fictitious capital that has exploded in the past few decades is ultimately dependent on the generation of real value in the production process. The capitalists can create as much fake value as they want, but this will only delay the inevitable destruction of capital necessary for a new round of profitable accumulation. -This is an amazing series Stephanie! I think you have done a brilliant job incorporating a Marxist analysis into a broader anti-Civ, eco-centric point of view. Best, Alex D
